James August Dirks

James August Dirks, 57 of Montgomery passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 at his residence. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery.

James was born on January 23, 1958 in Minneapolis to Thomas and Kathleen (Hank) Dirks. He graduated from Minnetonka High School. He was united in marriage to Kristy Dirks on March 17, 1978. James worked at the Star and Tribune in Distribution. He enjoyed bird watching, hunting, photography and was a former track coach for Minnetonka Schools.

He is survived by his parents Tom and Kathy Dirks; children Jaymi; Ryan (Courtney) and Aubrey Soukup (Jeff); grandchildren Ana; Amelia; Adrien; Max; Emery and Ryker; siblings Blake (JoEllen); Paula (Bob); and Judy; nieces and nephews; special friend Shelli Musech and former wife, Kristy Dirks.

James is preceded in death by brother-in-law, Jerry Turnbull.
