James C. Lorence

James C. Lorence, Sr., age 89, of Montgomery passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Visitation will be held on, Monday, December 28, from 9am to 10am at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Mass of Christian Burial at 10am with Father Tom Niehaus officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Catholic Cemetery in Montgomery. Military Honors will be provided by the Montgomery area honor guard.

Jim was born on January 6, 1931 in Montgomery. He served in the US Army in 1950 during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1952. Jim worked for Munsingwear, where he met his wife, Tillie (Kopet) and they were united in marriage in 1953. He worked road construction for many years and retired from PCI Construction in 1993. Jim enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing, and reminiscing about the old days.

Jim is survived by his children, Marilyn Schwartz of St. Cloud, and James Lorence and fiancé, Jodi Witt of Montgomery; grandchildren.

Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Tillie; son-in-law, Gary Schwartz.
