James 'J.T.' Timothy O'Meara

James “J.T.” Timothy OMeara died June 25, 2019 at Mayo Systems Hospital in Mankato. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 28 from 3pm to 7pm and Saturday, June 29, 1 hour prior to mass, both at St. Marys Catholic Church in Le Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10am at St. Marys Catholic Church with Fr. Stiles officiating. Military honors provided by the Le Center Area Veterans Honor Guard.
Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Le Center.

J.T. was born at home in Le Sueur County to James Vincent OMeara and Mary Adeline (Cashin) OMeara on November 22, 1932. J.T. graduated from McKinley High School in Le Center and the University of Minnesota. He served in the United States Navy from February 26, 1951 to May 7, 1954. He was united in marriage to Monica Muellerleile on April 4, 1964 at the Church of Nativity in Cleveland. He was a lifelong farmer and served as Le Sueur County Commissioner from 1975-1987. J.T. was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his friends and family.

J.T is survived by his wife, Monica OMeara; children, Theresa (James) Rodriguez of Chaska, Tom (Debbie) OMeara of Northfield, Emmett (Cory) OMeara of Los Angeles, Patty (Kent) Johnson of St. Michael, and Mike (Christine) OMeara of Le Center; grandchildren, Ryan Rodriguez, Connor Rodriguez, Shannon OMeara, Brian OMeara, Kellie OMeara, Scarlett OMeara, Seamus OMeara, Addie Johnson, Katie Johnson, Bridget Johnson, Keegan OMeara, and Riley OMeara; siblings, Virginia Stoering of Springfield, Gerald OMeara of Rosemount, Lenny (LaVonne) OMeara of Le Center, and Patrick (Jeanne) OMeara of Le Center.

J.T. is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mary Haggerty; brothers-in-law, Amby Pate, Denny Haggerty, and Gene Stoering.
