Jeffrey “Jeff” Wayne Freitag

Jeffrey “Jeff” Wayne Freitag, age 64, of New Prague, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at his home. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 3 from 10am-11am at New Day Church in New Prague with funeral service starting at 11am.

Jeff was born on February 28, 1959 in Washington, MO. to Wayne and Audrey (Scheer) Freitag. He was a graduate from New Haven High School in New Haven, and attended East Central College in Union, MO. He was united in marriage to Maryn Struckhoff on September 1, 1984 in Washington, MO. Jeff worked as an Engineer for Progressive Rail which he retired from in 2011. He also worked for DME Railroad and as a dairy farmer. He enjoyed listening to his daughters sing, restoring antique motorcycles and cars, being with family and being papa to his grandchildren, his wife’s strawberry cake, listening to David Hogan, and being with his brothers and sisters in Christ. Jeff also had a deep meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ and His faith was evident through his actions, words, and perseverance. God was truly the most important person in his life.

Jeff is survived by his wife Maryn Freitag of New Prague; mother; Audrey Freitag of New Haven, MO.; children, Joseph Freitag of New Prague, John Simon Freitag of New Prague, Joshua (Kelly) Freitag of Montgomery, Hannah (Jacob) Giesen of Mayer, and Sarah (Sean) of New Prague; grandchildren, Berlin Giesen, Augustus Giesen, and Selah Freitag; siblings, David (Debbie) Freitag of New Haven, MO, Chris (Tom) Rodgers of Washington, MO, and John (Lorie) Freitag of Washington, MO.

Jeff is preceded in death by his son, Jacob Freitag; father, Wayne Freitag.
