Jerry Charles Scheffert, 73, of Le Center, died Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. A public visitation will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020, from 9:00 �" 11:00 a.m., at the Le Center Funeral Home. A private funeral will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center, Pastor Ally Bowmen officiating. Burial is at Greenwood Union Cemetery, Le Center, Minnesota.

Jerry was born on October 18, 1947, to Alfred Albert and Adela Caroline (Braun) Scheffert, in New Prague, Minnesota. He grew up on a farm near St. Henry and graduated from McKinley High School in Le Center.

Jerry married Patricia Ann Schmidt on November 27, 1971, in Le Center, and they settled in Lexington Township. He was a member of the United States Army Reserve. Jerry was a farmer and a Pioneer Seed Salesman. He drove a school bus route, and also enjoyed transporting students to their athletic events. He retired in 2013. Jerry enjoyed fishing, spending time in Northern Minnesota, bird watching, gardening, genealogy, reading, attending coffee with his friends, the television show ‘The Price is Right, traveling, and his red Corvette. He had an affinity for office supplies and writing instruments, always keeping at least one in his shirt pocket. He may have been the only farmer in Le Sueur County to wear loafers as standard work footwear. Jerry also enjoyed spending time with his family and would often drive his golf cart over to visit his grandchildren who live nearby.

Jerry is survived by his wife Patricia; daughter, Randee Kathleen, and her husband Shawn Onken, who was like a son to Jerry; granddaughter, Olivia Rose Onken; grandson, Owen Adam Onken; sister, Joan (Richard) Blaschko; all of Le Center; exchange student granddaughter, Maike Thiemann of Ehringhausen, Germany; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Robert and Cheryl Evenson, Thomas and Cynthia McCabe, Scott and Debbie Schmidt, and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Kathleen Carol Scheffert.
