JoAnn Milda Cemensky, 77, of Le Center, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at her home in Le Center surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, from 3pm to 7pm at Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center with the rosary at 2:45pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, December 18 at 10am at St. Marys Catholic Church in Le Center with Father James Stiles officiating with visitation two hours prior at church. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Le Center.
JoAnn was born on April 16, 1942 in Waseca to Joseph and Milda (Arndt) Androli. She graduated from Waseca High School and Mankato Commercial College. JoAnn was united in marriage to Joseph Cemensky Jr. on February 12, 1966 at St. Jarlaths Catholic Church in Iosco Township in Waseca County. JoAnn worked alongside her husband, Joe farming and raising a family of four her entire married life.
JoAnn was actively involved with the St. Marys Funeral Committee, St. Marys CCW, where she served as president and circle chairperson, devout worshiper for Perpetual Adoration for 16 years, American Legion Auxiliary member, member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Faribault. Her strong Catholic faith carried her through her 10 ½ year journey with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). JoAnn enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. She loved to travel and enjoyed her bus trips. Her travels have taken her to China, South Africa, Israel, Mexico, Ireland and Rome to see Pope Francis and many other places around the United States. She also enjoyed going to garage sales and on other adventures with her best friend, loved gardening and tending to her numerous flower gardens. JoAnn was an avid Wheel watcher. She was known for her delicious mocho cakes, that she loved to share with friends and donate to church fundraisers.
JoAnn is survived by her children, Jean (Tim) Cemensky-Mohr of St. Peter, Jodi (Paul) Peterman of Zumbrota, Jolene Cemensky of Le Center, and Joseph (Michael) (Betsy) Cemensky of Le Center; grandchildren, Cooper Arnold, Katherine Peterman, Joseph Peterman, Mason Cemensky and McKenzie (Aggie) Cemensky; siblings, Roger Androli of Janesville, Robert (Carol) Androli of Janesville, and Bonnie (Curt) Suemnick of Waterville.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cemensky Jr.; parents; Joseph and Milda Androli; sister-in-law, Karen Androli.
