Joe C. Janovsky, age 81, of Montgomery, died on Friday, April 7, 2017 at his home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 9am to 11am at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian burial will be held also on Tuesday at 11 am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Father George Grafsky officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
Joe was born on April 24, 1935 in New Prague to Clayton and Elizabeth (Kotek) Janovsky. Joe was a graduate of Montgomery High School. Joe served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1959. Joe was united in marriage to Karolina (Guggenberger) in 1958 in Ansbach, Germany. Joe was employed with Green Giant in Montgomery as a forklift driver/ warehouse worker for 31 years. Joe was a member of the American Legion in Montgomery, an avid hunter, enjoyed traveling and being with all of his family.
Joe is survived by his wife, Karolina "Lina" Janovsky of Montgomery; son, Curt (Ann) Janovsky of Le Sueur; grandchildren, Gunnar Janovsky and Gretchen Janovsky; siblings, Mary (Leo) Kukacka of Hastings, Judy Whipps of Le Center, Dorothy Malz of Shakopee, and Diane Grabinger of Lonsdale.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Phyllis Baldwin, Jean Williams, Katherine Martinson, James Janovsky, and Sally Heyda.
Military honors will be provided by the Montgomery area Honor Guard.
