John Arnold Schleis

John Arnold Schleis, age 76, of Montgomery, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020. Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to donors choice or Wee3beasties: Saving the Strays in New Prague.

John was born on August 15, 1943 in New Prague to Arnold and Emily (David) Schleis. John attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School and Montgomery High School. John was united in marriage to Mary Jo Pitmon on October 26, 1963 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. John worked at the Montgomery Feed Mill and the Ford Assembly Plant in St. Paul for 30 years.

John loved his wife Mary Jo and his family, 22 years of retirement, drag racing for several years, his Mustang cars and cats, bicycling and visiting with friends- John had “the gift to gab.”

John is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jo Schleis of Montgomery; children, Kimberly (Bruce) Ulman of Mankato and John Schleis of Eagan; siblings, Ken (Luella) Schleis of Montgomery, Jeanne (Ray) Gates of Eagan, and Judy Bell of Minneapolis; many nieces and nephews.
John is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Ronald Schleis.
