John F. Traxler, age 78, of Le Sueur, MN, died on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Visitation will be held at Le Center Funeral Home on Friday, November 29 from 4:00 � 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Funeral Services will be at St. Henry Catholic Church in St. Henry on Saturday, November 30 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. Henry Catholic Cemetery in St. Henry.
John was born on February 24, 1935 to Joseph and Agnes (McCue) Traxler. He attended country school and McKinley High School in Le Center. John and Mary Mildred Hankins were married on August 5, 1961 at the Church of Nativity in Cleveland, MN. Together they farmed and raised three children.
John was a member at St. Henry Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was active in the Le Center Lions Club, Community Club, the Le Sueur County Fair Board and the Sportsman's Club. John enjoyed visiting with friends, playing cards, casino trips and football games.
He is survived by his children, Marty (Betty) Traxler of Torreon, Mexico, Ken Traxler of Bemidji, MN, and Megan (Matt) Holicky of Le Center; sister, Mary Agnes Shimota of Foley, MN; and five grandchildren, Josh, Caleb, Noah, Zachary, and Elizabeth Holicky.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Agnes, and his wife, Mary.
Memorials may be sent to the Bemidji State University Foundation, Care of the John & Mary Traxler Scholarship.
