John Meistrell

John Meistrell, 71, of North Mankato formerly of Montgomery, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, November 8, 2013. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 p.m.

John was born on October 10, 1942 in Kimball, Nebraska to Edwin and Marilyn (Trowbridge) Meistrell. He attended St. Peter High School. He was united in marriage to Elisabeth (Betsy) (Loken) in St. Peter on December 28, 1965. He owned the Ben Franklin Stores in Montgomery, St. Peter and New Prague for over 45 years. He enjoyed golfing, family time with grandkids and loved pizza.

He is survived by wife, Betsy Meistrell of North Mankato, children; Ann (Brian) Cesafsky of North Mankato, Paula (Clark) Meistrell Fearon of South Carolina, Katie (Bryan) Meistrell Titus, Santa Barbara, California and Matt Meistrell of Los Angeles, California, 2 grandchildren; Sam and Madison Cesafsky and mother, Marilyn Haes of Mankato, siblings; Teresa Woodward of La Habra, California and Mike Meistrell of Austin, Minnesota.
