John was born on March 30, 1935 to Otto and Mabel (Olson) Perbix in Minneapolis. He graduated from Mound High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. from 1952-1955. He married Barbara Jean Hempel in 1962. He worked many years for Jesco Construction Company. John's love for farming had taken him and Barbara to Cambridge, MN. Barbara passed away in 1983. John retired from Metropolitan Medical Center in 2002 where he had worked as a maintenance guy. After his retirement he moved up north and lived on Lake Kabetogamo and he would spend his winters down in Arizona.
John enjoyed farming. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a huge sports fanatic, even playing hockey into his later years. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and always made it a point to attend their sporting events. He also adored his nieces and nephews dearly. John enjoyed going out for breakfast every morning, and afterwards taking his best friend, Bandit out for a golf cart ride. He had an unbelievable knack for making friends wherever he went. He could often be heard singing obnoxiously or whistling randomly to whoever was in earshot. He will always be remembered for his famous one liner, "Oh Jeez, Oh Cripe!" John will be dearly missed by his family and to all who had the honor of knowing him.
