John Thomas Bartusek

John Thomas Bartusek, age 77, of Le Center, passed away after a short battle with cancer on the evening of Monday, June 13 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester surrounded by his family.

A visitation will be held at the Le Center Funeral Home on Sunday June 19 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Marys Catholic Church on Monday, June 20 at 10:00 am with a visitation an hour before the service in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

John was born to Benjamin and Marcella Bartusek on January 24, 1945 in rural New Prague. He graduated from New Prague HS and received a Bachelor's Degree in Agribusiness from the University of Minnesota. John married Shirley Svoboda on August 2, 1969 at St. Catherines Catholic Church.

He spent over 45 years working for Production Credit Associates/Farm Credit Services/AgStar as a loan officer and appraiser. He was active in the community, serving as an officer for the Knights of Columbus and various roles with St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was also an active member of the Le Center Community Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Shirley, son Jeff of Apple Valley, daughter Janelle O'Donnell of Le Center, son Keith (Amy) of New Palestine, IN, brother Ben Jr. (Jean) of New Prague, sister Mary Jane (Bill) Kessler of Cedar Falls, IA, and three grandchildren Luke, Miles, and Hudson.
