Joyce Evangeline Ekegren

Joyce Evangeline Ekegren of Bloomington, age 94, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Central Health Care Center in Le Center. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Transfiguration Lutheran Church in Bloomington at 10am. Funeral Service will follow at 11am with Pastor Ed Treat officiating. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Bloomington.

Joyce was born on January 3, 1925 in Annandale to Raymond and Ellen (Nivala) Gunnerson. She was a graduate of Annandale High School. Joyce was united in marriage to Robert Theodore Ekegren in Annandale July 1951. She enjoyed reading, word puzzles, birds and dogs, and gardening.

Joyce is survived by her children, Robert Ekegren of Le Sueur, Cheryl (Dennis) Ekegren -Kirby of Plymouth, and Diane Ericson of Prior Lake; 3 grandsons, John, Michael, and David; sisters, Ardella (David) Rued of Aitkin and Annette (Ivan) Russell of Isanti.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; and her parents; siblings, Donald, Colin, Douglas, twins- Harry and Harriett in infancy, Elaine, Carol, and Judy.
