Karen Pittman

Karen A. Pittman, age 60, of Mesa, AZ (formerly of Montgomery) passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Visitation will be on Friday, May 22 at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Montgomery.

Karen was born in Shakopee, MN on June 11, 1954 to James A. and Erma (Zoubek) Kotek. She attended Montgomery High School and graduated in 1972. On October 21, 1972 she married Greg Pittman at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. They were married 27 years. Karen loved to help and teach others. Throughout her career she worked in the school system in the special education department and as a Headstart preschool teacher. In 2002, Karen decided to fulfill a lifelong dream and move to Arizona where she lived happily for 15 years. During those 15 years, she worked with the elderly as an Activities Assistant at a nursing home and assisted living facility bringing joy into their lives with her beautiful smile. Karen enjoyed cooking and was proud of her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by Mike Erbstoesser, significant other, of Mesa, AZ; son Tim (Robin) Pittman of Savage; daughter Tracy (Patrick) Schoen of New Market; grandchildren Ryan, Katelyn and Jackson Schoen and brother Marvin (Pam) Kotek of Woodbury.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
