Kenneth Albert Harkins, of Le Center, lost his long battle with cancer at the age of 59 on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina. Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will also be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Kenneth was born on September 5, 1955 in Mankato to Clarence and Kathryn (Minars) Harkins. He attended McKinley High School in Le Center. He was employed as a cement truck driver and also worked in the oil fields in Alaska.
He enjoyed ice fishing, canning pickles, All Star Wrestling, mowing lawns, watching westerns on TV and detailing his beloved fishhouse and truck.
Kenneth is survived by his brothers, Mike (Pat) Harkins of Le Center and Russ (Jean) Harkins of Le Center; brother-in-law, Denny Lang of Le Center and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Kathryn Harkins and sister Bonnie Lang.
