Lavaughn M. Scheffert

LaVaughn M. Scheffert, age 72, of Montgomery, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Visitation will be at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery on Thursday, December 18 from 4:00 � 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be at the funeral home on Friday, December 19 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery in Montgomery.

LaVaughn was born on February 21, 1942 in New Prague to Frank and Alice (Wondra) Janaszak. She attended St. Raphael's Catholic School in Montgomery, and graduated from High School in Montgomery. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Scheffert on June 6, 1961 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. She was a homemaker and also worked at the Drive-in, Munsingwear and the Dry Cleaner in Montgomery.

LaVaughn enjoyed spending time with family, visiting with friends, being outdoors, and reading.

She is survived by her daughter, Katie (Bernie) LaCanne of Montgomery; three sons, Mike (Christy) Scheffert of Montgomery and Dan Scheffert of Faribault; brother, Don Janaszak of Park Rapids; five grandchildren, Jeremy (Ashley), Amy, Megan, Chelsea, and Connor; and one great grandson, Ethan.

LaVaughn is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; her parents, Frank & Alice Janaszak; and one son, Paul.
