Lawrence A. Trnka, age 74, of Montgomery, died on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at his home in Montgomery. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 p.m. with Father Tom Niehaus officiating. Interment will be in St. Johns Catholic Cemetery in Montgomery. Military Honors will be provided by the Montgomery area Color Guard.

Larry was born on April 19, 1946 in St. Patrick to William and Emily (Flicek) Trnka. Larry attended Country School, Lonsdale Catholic School and was a graduate of New Prague High School. Larry served in the Army. Larry was united in marriage on May 13, 1967 to Mary Kabes. They had bought a farm in 1974. She passed away on July 11, 2008.

Larry was remarried on December 1, 2012 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague to Mary (Barta) Bisek. They had farmed until spring of 2020 which then he and Mary moved to Montgomery. He also worked for Rice County in road maintenance. Larry enjoyed playing cards, camping, fishing, going out to eat (especially Pizza Ranch), farming, and listening to old time music.

Larry is survived by his wife, Mary Trnka of Montgomery; children, Randy Trnka of Le Center, Steve (Susan) Trnka of Lake Crystal, Mike Trnka of Montgomery, and Sue (Jeremy) Schwartz of Waterville; step-children, Dale (Dawn) Bisek of Alta Loma, CA., Doug Bisek of Northfield, and Jodi (Chris) Chromy of New Prague; grandchildren, Alex Schwartz, Alyssa Schwartz, Jaiden Trnka, Hunter Trnka, and Jake Trnka; step-grandchildren; great-step-grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Mary Jane) Trnka of Lonsdale, Arlene (Dale) Malecha of Northfield, and Donald (Deb) Trnka of Minnewaukan, ND.; daughter-in-law, Sheryl Trnka of Chaska.

Larry is preceded in death by 1st wife, Mary (Kabes) Trnka, son, Russell; and parents.
