Leonard Wilbur Teel

Leonard Wilbur Teel, 79 of Le Center, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 15, 2019. Visitation will be held Friday, October 18 from 9am-11am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center with services to follow at 11am. Private family interment will be at the Czech National Cemetery in New Prague.

Leonard was born on October 26, 1939 in Burke, South Dakota to Roy and Myrtle Teel. He graduated from Burke High School, SD in 1957 and Southern State Teachers College, SD in 1963. He was the Le Center High School Band Director for 30 years, retiring in 1997.
Leonard was united in marriage to Carol Nelson on June 15, 1969 at the United Methodist Church in Le Center. He devoted his life to his family. He loved singing and playing music, traveling, gardening, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Those left cherishing his memory are his daughters, Michelle (Kevin) Hunter of Buffalo and Tricia Earle of St. Louis Park. The grandchildren who loved their “Boppa”; Khloe and Kevin Hunter Jr., Sophia and Dayton Earle. Leonard is also survived by his sister, Iris Holtz of Burke, SD.

Leonard is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol; and siblings.
