Linda Lee Herrera

LINDA LEE HERRERA, age 70, of Montgomery, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at her home on Green Leaf Lake in rural Montgomery.

Born on September 7, 1954, in Shakopee, she was the daughter of Robert and Betty (Shetka) Trinka. Linda grew up in Mongomery and began her education at Montgomery Elementary School. She was a 1973 graduate of South Saint Paul High School. Linda continued her education at Dakota County Community College where she received her associate’s degree in criminal justice. On November 20, 1982, Linda was united in marriage to Adrian Herrera in Roseville, Minnesota and together raised three children. They began their married life together in South Saint Paul before making their home on Green Leaf Lake in 1994.

Throughout her life, Linda was a dedicated mother and homemaker, she also worked for many years for Dakota County in Corrections. She had a love for music, fostering animals and pets, and helping on the family farm. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed sewing, cooking and especially cherished the time she spent with her family and pets.

Linda is survived by her husband of 42 years, Adrian; children: Alaina (Kevin) Olson of St. Peter, Abby (Chris) Degrood of Faribault and Melanie (Shawn) Christensen of Montgomery; nine grandchildren: Ashlyn (Austin) Ferris, Emily Barnett, Grace Barnett and Olivia Degrood, Jack, Daniel, and Belle Olson, and Lillian and Leonidas Christensen; three great grandchildren: Avery and Archer Ferris and Jameson Barnett. She is also survived by her sister, Peggie (Creagg) Stienhouse of New Prague; brother-in-law, Tim Herrera; sisters-in-law: Lydia Mozaffarian, Elena Mike, and Dorena Perez; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert (Becky) Trinka Jr.; and brother-in-law, Peter Herrera.

Memorial service will be 11:00 AM on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Interment will be on a later date at Bohemian National Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
