Lois Marlene Gieseke Barnett

Lois Marlene Gieseke Barnett, 81 of Kilkenny, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Mala Strana Health Care in New Prague. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery with a service at 12:00 p.m. also at Schoenbauer Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Kilkenny and a luncheon will be held at St. Canice Church hall in Kilkenny.
Lois was born on April 21, 1932 in Courtland to Emanuel and Eva (Schlottman) Gieseke. The family moved to Kilkenny Township in March of 1941. She attended Kilkenny school. She was united in marriage to William (Bill) Barnett of Kilkenny on July 9, 1958. She worked at various jobs throughout her life. Lois enjoyed family, gambling, singing and dancing.
Lois is survived by daughters, Kathy (Barnett) Malek of New Prague and Diane (Barnett) Turek of New Prague; daughter-in-law, Shelly (Tupa) Barnett of Kilkenny; 8 granchildren, 2 great-granchildren; brother, Norman Gieseke of Kilkenny, Gene (Barbara) Gieseke of Kilkenny; sister, Karen (Curt) Bosacker and Beverly (Gieseke) Staples of Kilkenny; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Emanuel and Eva Gieseke; sister, Muriel (Gieske) Johnson; brother, Harvey Gieseke; son Michael Barnett; and past husband, Bill Barnett.
