Loren F. Riebel, age 79 of Le Center, died Thursday, September 1, 2016 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 5 at St. Henry Catholic Church in St. Henry. Fr. Chris Shofner will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 4 at the Le Center Funeral Home concluding with a K of C rosary at 7:30 p.m.. Visitation will continue Monday morning at the funeral home 1 hour prior to Mass. Interment will be in St. Henry Catholic Cemetery.

Loren was born on May 12, 1937 to Peter and Marie (Macho) Riebel in Sharon Twp.. He graduated from Le Center High School and then joined the U.S. Army and was in the Reserves from 1955 to 1963. He married Sharon Zabrocki on September 7, 1963 in Aurora, MN.

Loren was born on the family farm and died on the family farm, he often told people that "his birth was paid for by ducks and chickens". He spent 40+ years as a dairy farmer, was a realtor appraiser for 22 years, and raised golden retrievers for 50 years.

He was a member of the 3rd and 4th degree Knights of Columbus, National Farmers Organization, St. Henry's Men's Club, Le Center Community Club, Pioneer Power Association, and the American Legion.

Loren was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He was very committed to his faith. He loved and enjoyed being a farmer, conservationist, and living on the family farm.

Loren is survived by his wife, Sharon of 53 years; children, Steven (Beth) Riebel of Ramsey, MN, Kerrie Ann (Alan) Hertaus of Le Center, David (Ann) Riebel of Lewiston, MN, and Rochelle (Edwin) Beyer of Long Valley, NJ; 15 grandchildren, Maxwell, Anna, Peyton, and Sophia Riebel, Ben (MaryAlice) Hertaus, Jake Hertaus, Brigid (fianc�, Dustin Wander) Hertaus, and Allie Hertaus, Jackson, Sam, and Reece Riebel, Ava, Lucas, Kurt, and Lilly Beyer;
sister, Patricia (Phil) Lehner of Cleveland, MN; sister-in-law, Dorothy Riebel of Le Center; father-in-law, Albin (Estelle) Zabrocki of Aurora, MN.

He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Katie Rose Hertaus; two brothers, and one sister.
