Lyle "Bomber" Terwedo, age 85, of Montgomery, died on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at his home. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 11, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 12 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery with Pastor Mark Wilms officiating with visitation one hour prior at the church. Burial will be at the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Montgomery

Lyle was born on June 27, 1930 in Hennepin County to Albert and Margaret (Laumann) Terwedo. He graduated from New Prague High School in 1950. He was united in marriage to Alvina Smisek in 1956, 2nd wife Betty Vasko in 1958, and Myrna (Athey) Anderson December 18, 1971. Lyle worked for the railroad as a section crew member for 34 years.

Lyle enjoyed watching sports, playing sports in his younger years and was very proud of the Trojans District 13 football Champions in 1949 which he was a part of, lawn mowing, helping neighbors and friends, and listening to polka music.

Lyle is survived by his wife, Myrna Terwedo of Montgomery; children, Carl Terwedo of Sturgis, Michigan, Brian (Ai) of Lansing, Michigan, Scott of Chillicothe, Illinois, Bob (Katie) of Le Sueur, and Vicki Terwedo of Sturgis, Michigan; step-children, Donna (Gary) Arndt, Diane (Paul) Bengtson, Edward (Tina) Athey, Charles (Debbie) Athey, and Larry (Anette) Athey; grandchildren, Jeni (Al) Paur, Bobby (Jessica) Haefs, Katie Booth, Lacey, Lucus, and Austin Terwedo, Makayla (James) Dawson, Andrea, Justin, and Alexis Terwedo; 22 step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Ava, Mason, Aidan, Arianna, Sonya, and Jovi.; 21 step great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Zvanovec of New Prague; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lyle is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Milo Laumann, Albert "Duke- Dick" Terwedo; wife, Alvina; daughter, Linda Terwedo, and step-daughter Sheryl Athey Neubauer.
