MARILYN AGNES MILLER, age 86 of Montgomery, died at Mala Strana Assisted Living and Rehabilitation Center in New Prague on Sunday, February 23, 2025.
Marilyn was born in Faribault on July 21, 1938 to parents William and Selma (Radtke) Wobbrock, one of thirteen children. She attended school in Faribault and graduated from Faribault High School. She began her working years at McQuay’s in Faribault where she met the man that would later become her husband, William Alvin Miller. They were married in Faribault on September 20, 1958. Marilyn went on to work at Munsingwear, Franchise Mailing, the Faribault Regional Center, and at the Shakopee Correctional Facility, although her years at home raising her family were her highest calling. She enjoyed cooking and baking (her Kolackys were unbeatable), sewing, crocheting, and quilting. She was a long-time member of St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery.
Marilyn is survived by five children, Douglas (Susan) Miller of Lino Lakes, Brenda Bokman and her significant other, Gary Schienbein of Faribault, Karen (Doug) Gjerstad of Montgomery, Mark Miller of Faribault, and Bruce (Janice) Miller of Northfield; ten grandchildren and three step-grandchildren, Rebecca (Vincent) Miller of Hurlock, MD, Kristie Miller of Rochester, Andrew Bokman of Faribault, Matthew (Brianna) Bokman of Faribault, Hannah Misgen of Faribault, Paige Butterfield of Medford, Karli (Connor) Lipinski of Lonsdale, Reed Schienbein of Owatonna, Jeremy (Ashley) Scheffert of Lonsdale, Amy (Ted) Jirik of Lonsdale, Megan (Brandon) Turgeon of Chaska, Morgan Gjerstad of Montgomery, and Beau Miller of New York; nine great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Charles Wobbrock of Wapakoneta, OH, Marcia Johnson of Faribault, and Linda Novotny of Faribault. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2015; ten siblings; and one great-grandson, Ethan Scheffert in 2015.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery, with Rev. David Christensen officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. A private interment will take place at St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
