Marjorie Ann Gruetzmacher

Marjorie Ann Gruetzmacher, 86, of Le Center, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Benedictine Living Center in St. Peter. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center from 4:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m with one hour prior at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center on Monday, October 6, 2014. Funeral Service will be on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Le Center.
Marjorie was born to Albert and Lenore (Welckle) Whipps on June 23, 1928 in Cordova Township. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center. She attended rural schools and the Le Center Public School. Upon graduation she attended Teacher Training and taught for rural schools. She took her turn at teaching Sunday school and Bible school at St. Paul's. She was united in marriage to Loren H. Gruetzmacher on June 23, 1949 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center. She worked off the farm for many years at Farmer's Seed and Nursery and also in the Le Center Public School system as a paraprofessional and a library aid.
She enjoyed reading, cooking, cross stitch and playing cards. She was a member of the Le Sueur County Extension group since 1949.
Marjorie is survived by children, Linda Hurtgen of New Freedom, PA., Kevin Gruetzmacher of Le Center, and Bonnie (Doug) Anderson of Omaha, NE.; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lyle Whipps of North Branch, MN., and Rita Whipps of Waterville.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Loren H. Gruetzmacher; son, Larry Gruetzmacher; granddaughter, Jenny Gruetzmacher; grandson, Peter Hurtgen; parents, Albert and Lenore Whipps; brother, Roger Whipps and son-in-law, John Hurtgen.
