Marvel Harmeyer

Marvel Harmeyer, 102, of Le Center, passed away at Horizon Place Assisted Living in Le Center on Thursday, January 25, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, January 30, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center, with visitation 1 hour prior beginning at 10am. Interment will be held in Greenwood Cemetery in spring.

Marvel was born on April 4, 1915 in Le Sueur County to Moses and Mary (Deutsch) Sautter.
Marvel was united in marriage to Ralph Harmeyer in the Little Brown Church in Iowa. Marvel was a country school teacher in Le Sueur County, and also worked until she was 76 at Bensons Grocery/ Veens Grocery in Le Center. Marvel enjoyed sewing, quilting, card playing and spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Marvel is survived by her son, Ken (Joyce) Harmeyer of Le Center; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Shirley Sautter; many nieces and nephews.

Marvel is preceded in death by husband, Ralph Harmeyer; son, David Harmeyer; daughter, Mary Lou Battig; brothers, Vernon Sautter, and Sam (Claire) Sautter; sister, Page (Don) Halliday.
