Marvin John Willette, 83 of Le Center, formerly of Easton, died Monday, October 30, 2017 at Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter, MN. He battled Parkinson's for 18 years. Visitation will be on Friday, November 3 from 4-7 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 4 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center at 10 a.m. with Father James Adams officiating. Visitation one hour prior at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Le Center. Military Rites will be provided by the Le Center Area Honor Guard.
Marvin was born on February 26, 1934 in Easton to Louis and Mary (Bias) Willette. He attended Mount Carmel Catholic School up until 8th grade and then attended Dowling High School in West Des Moines, Iowa. He entered the United States Army from October 1957 to September 1961. Marvin was united in marriage to Elaine (Evan) Willette in Minnesota Lake on May 19, 1959.
Marvin was a farmer and raised livestock. He also worked for Green Giant, Winco and United Steel throughout his life. He was a good friend and never hesitated to help his neighbors. He enjoyed playing cards, dancing, singing and �tinkering' in his workshop. His biggest joy in life was spending time with family and friends.
Marvin is survived by his children, Jodi (Mark) Rouse of Maple Grove, Judy (Dan) Rogich of Fridley, John (Jill) Willette of Wells, Helen (Mike) Heiland of Excelsior, Tim (Amber) Willette of St. Charles; grandchildren, Katherine (Chris) Lindstrom, Emily (Derrick) Diedrick, Emma (Steve) Santee, Tony Willette, Lindsay, Kyle and Rachel Sather, Owen Willette; great-grandchildren Alexia and Ronan; brother Jim (Carolyn) Willette of Easton; sister, Sharon (Everette) Ward of Mapleton; sister-in-law, Ann Willette of Medford; sisters-in-law, Jeanne (David) Becker of Mankato, Joyce (Warren) Schneeburger of Brainerd, Helen (Mike) Manders of Mankato, Barb (Dale) Koplen of Pemberton, Muggs (Denny) Zabel of St. Clair, Hona Beyer of Minnesota Lake, Alice (Oren) Roeker of Minnesota Lake, Teresa Kirchner of Pella, IA, Rose (Randy) Cole of Mankato; brother-in-law, Chuck (Joan) Evan of Minnesota Lake, and many nieces and nephews.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elaine (2015); son, Tony (1975); and brother Richard Willette.
