Melvin Herman Schley

Melvin Herman Schley, 91, of Le Center, passed away at his home in Le Center on Sunday, April 1, 2018. Memorial service will be held at 11 am, Friday, July 6, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center with Pastor Alley Bowman officiating, with visitation 1-1/2 hours prior at church. Interment will be held in Blue Grass Cemetery in Le Center.

Melvin was born on September 18, 1926 in Lake Belt Township (Martin County) to Edwin Arthur and Esther Lily (Benz) Schley. Melvin was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Sower on June 23, 1950. Melvin farmed all of his life.

Melvin is survived by his wife, Ruth Schley of Le Center; children, Lloyd Schley of Minneapolis, Kenneth (Deborah) Schley of Duluth, Carole (Bruce) Kirk of Arlington, WA., Paul (Tamara) Schley of Le Center, and Barbara (partner, Sheryl Merry) Schley of Brooklyn Park; grandchildren, Scott (Amy) Schley, Chad (Kit) Schley, Jennifer (Martin) Juarez, Peter Reverman, Susan (Mikey) Graham, Brian Reverman, Ben (Becky) Reverman, Mark Reverman, Kati (Bruce) Hamilton, and Damean Schley; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Norman (Norma) Schley; brothers-in-law, David (Jeanette) Bain, John (Sue) Bain; sister-in-law, Lillian Maurer; many nieces and nephews.

Melvin is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gerald; sister-in-law, Ardette; brother-in-law, Larry Maurer.
