Merlyn Robert Duenow

Merlyn Robert Duenow, age 91, of Montgomery died on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Traditions in Montgomery. Services are in St. Ansgar, Iowa at Schroeder and Sites funeral home on Saturday, July 20 at 1pm.

Merlyn was born on February 23, 1928 in Worth County, IA to Carl August and Edna Susan (Koster) Duenow. He graduated in St. Ansgar, IA. Merlyn was united in marriage to Luanna Margaret Moen in St. Ansgar, IA in 1946. Meryln worked as a line worker for Interstate Power/ Alliant Energy. Merlyn sang in a barbershop quartet and in church choir. He enjoyed bowling, playing pool, travelling, camping and fishing.

Merlyn is survived by children, Thomas (Judy) Duenow of Elk River, Mark (Cindy) Duenow of Minneapolis, Bradley (Sheila) Duenow of Eagan, and Susan (Kim) Schumann of Apple Valley; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Duenow of Rosemount; grandchildren, Jen (Paul) Hanson, Amber (Joe) Kunz, Marty (MacKenzie) Duenow, Lucas Duenow, Becky Duenow, Nathan (Erin) Schumann, Josh (Ashlee) Duenow, Mandy Duenow (Jeremy) Johnson, Julia Huffman, and Denise Boss; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Paul Hanson Jr., Jacob Marcy, Kendall Marcy, Taylor Kunz, Aubrey, Riley and Leighton Duenow, London, Ayreland Duenow, Robby and Jess Johnson; siblings, Kenneth Duenow of St. Ansgar, IA, and Margaret Runtsch of Rochester.

Merlyn is preceded in death by his wife, Luanna; children, Jeffrey Duenow, Cindy Duenow-Palafox, and Robert Duenow; siblings, Wayne, Carl, John, Shirley, and Eleanor.
