Mildred Julia Malecha, age 91 of Montgomery, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Mala Strana in New Prague. Visitation will be on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 9am to 11am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am with Father George Grafsky officiating. Interment will be at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery in New Prague. Lunch will follow at the KC Hall in New Prague.
Mildred was born on April 24, 1926 in Wheatland Township in Rice County to James and Emma (Uhlir) Korbel. Mildred was united in marriage to Albert Frank Malecha at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague on November 12, 1945. She worked as a farm wife and after moving to Montgomery in 1974 worked at Frankes Bakery, and Petrees Greenhouse. Millie was a member of the Holy Redeemer CCW and the KC Auxiliary. Millie enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, baking, gardening, sewing, making quilts, and fishing.
Millie survived by her husband of 71 years, Albert Malecha; children, Melvin (Jean) Malecha of New Prague, Darlene Ruhland of Montgomery, and Denny (Sue) Malecha of Rosemount; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Millie is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Milo at the age of 6, and sister, Alice Pavek; brother-in-law, John Pavek; son-in-law, George Ruhland.
