Milo A. Tuma, age 90 of Montgomery, died Friday, October 20, 2017 at Central Health Care in Le Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am on Saturday, October 28 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Visitation will be from 9am to 11am at the church. Interment will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery in rural Montgomery with military rites provided by the Montgomery area Honor Guard.

Milo was born on March 8, 1927 in Wheatland Township to James and Anna (Koktavy) Tuma. He attended the Foley school in Montgomery Township and worked on his parents farm until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1950. After basic training he married Marian Brezina on April 10, 1951 and departed for duty to Korea a week after their wedding. After his tour was complete he was assigned to Fort Carson in Colorado Springs. Marian completed her school year at Greenleaf school and joined him for the last three months of his tour. They returned and lived with Marian's parents on the farm in Lexington Township until her parents moved to Montgomery in the spring of 1953. Milo retired from farming in 1984 and began working at Green Giant, Wilson's Lawn and Care, Holy Redeemer school and was a custodian at Montgomery High School until December 1995. He continued to raise beef cattle until 2008. February 2014 they left the farm and moved to Park Manor Apartments in Montgomery.

Milo enjoyed listening as well as dancing to old time music and especially to concertina music. He had a great interest in Western movies, and airplanes. He loved riding horses, and listening to Western music. He enjoyed spending time with his two daughters and later his grandchildren.

Milo is survived by his wife, Marian of Montgomery; daughters, Pam (Russ) Connolley of Rice, and Melissa (John) Voigt of Cleveland; grandchildren, David (Stacey) Voigt, and Laura Voigt; sister, Gertrude Tuma; brother, Alvin (Aggie) Tuma.

Milo is preceded in death by his parents, James and Anna (Koktavy) Tuma; brother, Richard; sisters, Gladys Tuma, and Alice (Bob) Josten; two sisters who passed away in infancy; and Aunt, Helen Vlasak.
