Myles Leon Genelin, age 3, of Le Center, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24 from 4pm to 8pm at the Le Center Funeral Home continuing at 9am to 10am Saturday, July 25 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center with Mass of Christian Burial at 10am.
Myles was born in Rochester on March 14, 2017 to Michael and Ashley (Schloesser) Genelin.
Mighty Myles was a real-life superhero that touched the hearts and lives of many in just three short years. He was a fighter from the minute he was born. He demonstrated perfect strength, love, grit and happiness every day of his life. Myles loved his brothers more than anything. His favorite time of the day was morning time, when his brothers would snuggle in bed and watch cartoons with him. Myles loved his soft blankies, and kept one by his face every minute of the day. Myles showed his family unconditional love. Even though Myles fought for his life for 1,149 days, his contagious smile remained as his trademark and a reminder to us all to take time to stop and enjoy every possible moment. Myles loved being social, playing with his fingers, “5 Little Ducks,” music therapy, being outside, watching “Duck, Duck Goose,” camping in his Make-A-Wish camper, going for walks, lights, rides on the wagon with the mules, swimming and rubbing his hands and feet on Mom and Dads legs. His family will miss his middle-of-the-night play parties, his sweet voice, him reaching to touch their faces, the cute tuft of curls on top of his head and every other perfect part of him. There arent words powerful or profound enough to accurately describe the impact he made on the world in such a short time. His family would like the community to know how grateful they are for the acceptance and support they showed Myles his entire life. They would also like to thank all of his doctors, nurses and caretakers for caring for Myles like their own. His life was short, but exceeded every limit despite the physical challenges he faced. Although the days were few, his impact was enormous. He is loved beyond measure.
