Norman E. Gieseke, age 83, of Kilkenny, died on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Mala Strana Health Care in New Prague. Visitation will be held at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery on Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 4:00 � 8:00 p.m. continuing Monday, April 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Kilkenny. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Sabre Lake Cemetery in Kilkenny.
Norman was born on June 12, 1930 in Courtland to Emanuel and Eva (Schlottmann) Gieseke. He graduated from New Ulm High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a farmer and in 1986 began working for Le Sueur County.
He enjoyed visiting casinos and ballroom dancing.
Norman is survived by siblings, Karen (Curt) Bosacker of Le Center, Gene (Barbara) Gieseke of Kilkenny and Beverly Stables of Kilkenny; many nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harvey Gieseke; sisters, Muriel Johnson and Lois Barnett.
Military Honors provided by the Le Center area Honor Guard.
