Orville Arnold Richter, age 96, of Montgomery died Sunday, November 1, 2020 at his home in Montgomery. Private family services.
Orville was born on June 4, 1924 in Montgomery to Arnold and Augusta Richter. Orville served in the United States Army from 1945-1946 and was stationed in Japan. He was united in marriage to his 1st wife, LoElla Lehman in 1945 in Paris, TX. Later he was remarried to Marilyn (Chase) Campbell on January 22, 1994 in Wisconsin.
Orville was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where taught Sunday School in his earlier years and was also a member of the American Legion. Orville was very proud of his registered herd of Brown Swiss cattle which he raised on “Lazy Lake Farm” and he and his children showed in numerous fairs and cattle shows. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting wood, and playing cards.
Orville is survived by his wife, Marilyn Campbell-Richter; children, Dr. Dana Richter of Hancock, MI., Becky (Joe) Carranza of Cathedral City, CA., and Wendy (Rich) Vargo of Montgomery; step-sons, Keith (Joyce) Campbell of Biloxi, MS. and Kevin (Joni) Campbell of Ham Lake; 10 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; along with other family and many friends.
Orville is preceded in death by his 1st wife, LoElla Richter; his parents; sister, Gretchen Edel; and a brother, Douglas in infancy.
