Paul R. Mccabe

Paul R. McCabe, age 63 of Le Center, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 5, from 3pm to 7pm at the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, August 6 at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10am with Father Chris Shofner officiating with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland.

Paul was born on May 10, 1955 in St. Peter, MN to Thomas "Tom" and Lois (Pete) McCabe. Paul was the 5th of 13 children. He was a graduate of Cleveland High School. Paul was united in marriage to Elizabeth (Osborne) on September 27, 1974 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center. He worked at WINCO for 30 years taking early retirement due to Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2009. In November 2017, Paul was diagnosed with AL Amyloidosis, a rare blood disorder affecting 8 in a million, for which he was currently receiving treatment. He adored his grandkids and going to their various activities or spoiling them with chocolate milk and ice cream. Paul truly enjoyed helping everyone and anyone including Sharon with dog chores, and Dave with the small engines. He also loved grilling for company, mowing, snow blowing, and sharing his homemade salsa.

Paul is survived by wife, Elizabeth McCabe; children, Marie McVenes, Jon (Amanda) McCabe, and Patty (Dan) Flowers; grandchildren, Gage, Blake, and Brielle McVenes, Evelyn McCabe, Kaitlyn, Natalie, and Julia Flowers; siblings, Tony (Judy) McCabe, MaryAnn Berg (Kim Yoder), Kyran (John) McCormack, Tom (Cindy) McCabe, Cindy (George) Meyer, Germaine Ely, Connie Derner, Jackie (Al) Blair, Jeff McCabe, and Matt McCabe; his mother, Lois McCabe; many nieces, nephews, other extended family, and friends.

Paul is preceded in death by his father, Tom; brothers, Chuck and Gerard; father-in-law, Ronald Osborne; and brother-in-law, Tom Ely.
