Phyllis Harrison, 85, of Le Center, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the Central Health Care Facility in Le Center. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6 at 11am with funeral services following at 12 at the United Methodist Church in Le Center with Pastor Donna Martinson officiating.
Phyllis was born on November 27, 1933 in Albia Iowa to Harry and Faye (Mertz) Lamb. Phyllis graduated Albia High School in Iowa. Phyllis was united in marriage to William “Bill” H. Harrison in 1952 then later on moved to Le Center in 1966. Phyllis worked as a paraprofessional at Minnesota Valley Action Council for 25 years and retired in 1998. She also worked at Boyds Department Store. Phyllis was a member of the Le Center United Methodist Church. Phyllis started the Santa Anonymous program in Le Center in 1977. Phyllis also enjoyed volunteering for many organizations, St. Marys thrift store, and senior citizen noon lunches, MAC & NAPS (senior and children food campaign) and food shelves. Phyllis is a former member of the Le Center Lioness, MVAC board, Region 9 aging board and also the Salvation Army. She was a long time member of the Friends of Le Center Library.
Phyllis is survived by her son David Harrison of Minneapolis, friends Sharon Traxler and Chrit Hoey.
Phyllis is proceeded in death by her husband Bill, son Steven Harrison, parents Harry and Faye Lamb and brothers, Harry Jr. and Jack Lamb
