Ralph Edward Dietz

Ralph Edward Dietz, 70 of Montgomery passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Mayo Health Systems in New Prague.
Interment will be held Monday April 27, 2015 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday April 26, from 5 to 7 pm at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery with Montgomery Veterans Honor Guard at 6:30.

Ralph was born on August 23, 1944 to Adolph and Annie (Studnicka) Dietz in Montgomery Township on the family farm. Ralph attended public school in Montgomery until 1960. He was drafted by the US Marine Corp in 1968 and was stationed overseas as a supply officer and honorably discharged in 1970.

Ralph held many positions in various industries, but he was passionate about farming and considered himself a farmer above all else. Ralph enjoyed helping others. Whether it was helping with maintenance on a house, raking hay or disking a field Ralph was there. Ralph had a jovial disposition and enjoyed visiting with others when paths crossed. Playing cards, fishing and hunting are a few things he enjoyed. As a boy Ralph would sit in the cedar tree on the farm and shoot pheasants with a side by side.

Ralph is survived by sister, Dorothy (Dietz) Denzer of Montgomery, brother Donald Dietz (Darlene) of
Montgomery; nieces and nephews, Deborah Kasper (Gregory) of Belle Plaine, Robert Denzer (Lynn)of Montgomery, Suzanne Novak of Ft Meyers; FL; Marvin DenzertJr (Shelly) of Waconia, Cynthia Benner
(Kevin) of Minnetonka, and Michael Dietz (Christina) of Montgomery; and 18 great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by parents, brother in law Marvin Denzer Sr and great nephew Franklin.
