Rich Kopet

Rich Kopet, 61, of Le Center died Friday May 1st at his home surrounded by family and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 11 from 4:00 to 7:30pm at the Le Center Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 12 at 10:00am at St. Marys Catholic Church in Le Center with visitation one hour prior at the Church. Funeral service will be live streamed at https://www.facebook.com/StMaryStHenry/ and over flow viewing in the social hall. Also, masks are encouraged.

Rich was born July 3, 1958 to Alvin and Dorothy (Pete) Kopet in St. Peter, MN. He graduated from Le Center High School and drove trucks for Selly Construction and Max Johnson before starting his own “Kopet Trucking” which he owned/operated for 23 years.

Rich married Joanne “Annie” Malinski on November 21, 1987 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lexington, MN. He enjoyed the company of friends, deer hunting, and visiting casinos. He was an avid fan of his son Justins sporting events.

Rich is survived by his wife, Joanne “Annie” Kopet; and son, Justin Kopet of Le Center; brothers, Ron (Deb) Kopet of Le Center, and Robbie (Jaci) Kopet of Clevland; sister, Brenda (Curt) Kunkel of Plymouth, sisters-in-law, Connie Kopet of Le Center, Jenny (Dale) Russell of Buffalo and Maureen (Tim) Blaschko from Le Center; brothers-in-law, Robert (Priscilla) Malinski of Le Center, Marty (Kim) Malinski of AZ, John Malinski of Le Center, and Brian Malinski of Le Center; also many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Russell Kopet, and sister-in-law, Theresa Malinski.
