Rita Marjorie Minars

Rita Marjorie Minars, age 74 of Le Center, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at her home. Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center on Saturday, January 23 from 8:00 � 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at the church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Le Center. Fr. Victor Valencia will officiate.
Rita was born in Cleveland on July 31, 1941 to Clair and Frances (Simonette) Thomas. She was united in marriage to Richard Minars on September 24, 1960 and to Thomas Blaschko March 10, 2002. Rita was a VFW Auxiliary member and enjoyed fishing, cooking, canning, gardening, playing cards, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Debbie (Bob) Claffey of Le Center, and Melissa (Tony) Dobmeier of Le Center; grandchildren, Jimmy (Kayla) Claffey, Rachel Claffey, Cameron, Calob, and Rylyn Dobmeier; and a great-grandchild arriving in May of 2016; siblings, Jerry (Mary) Thomas of Belle Plaine, Pat (Harold) Hobday of St. Peter, Janet (Roger) Krenik of Mankato, and Kathleen (Lenny) Tiede of Montgomery; brother-in-law, Pete Glynn of Rochester; half-brother and half-sister, Robert (Diane) Thomas of St. Peter and LouAnn (Eddy) Chestnut of South Carolina, and Rita's dog, Peanut.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Dick in 1988, and Tom in 2003; son, Ricky Minars in 2009; siblings, Jim Thomas, Jack Thomas, Mary Coughlan, Ruth Leighton, and Joan Glynn.
