Robert (Bob) J. Meyer

Robert (Bob) J. Meyer, 86 of Le Sueur, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015 at Central Health Care in Le Center. Visitation will be on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Bob was born on July 16, 1929, in Mankato to Joseph V. and Frances (Doran) Meyer. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1948. Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Bob was united in marriage to Janet Biehn on November 17, 1952 at St. John Catholic Church in Mankato. He was a farmer, fur broker and also raised Ginseng.

Bob was a lifetime member and past commander of the VFW Post 1803, lifetime member of the American Legion Post 108, lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and National Deputy Chief of Staff and Past District 2 VFW Commander. He enjoyed spending time with his family and dancing.

He is survived by his wife, Janet of Le Sueur; sons, Larry of Fontana, CA., Steve (Julie) of Lakeville, Tim of Chanhassen and Pat of Royal Oak, MI.; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter and brother Joseph A. of Amery, WI.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and son, Michael.

Military honors will be provided by the Le Center Area Honor Guard.
