Robert "Bob" J. Riebel

Robert "Bob" J. Riebel, age 86, of Le Center, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 at his home in St. Henry. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church in St. Henry with visitation 1 hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Henry's Cemetery.

Bob was born at the family farm in Le Sueur County on August 11, 1928 to Peter and Marie (Macho) Riebel. He attended District 77 Country School and U of M Farm School at the St. Paul Campus. He farmed the family farm until he was called to serve in the US Army in the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Stangler at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Elysian on August 25, 1954.

He enjoyed Old Time music, dancing to polkas, farming, collecting license plates and teaching his sons and grandsons about restoring trucks, tractors and engines. Bob was active in the community, SWCS Le Sueur County Soil and Water, past commander American Legion and VFW, County Chairman of DFL, Le Sueur County Pioneer Power Association, Catholic Order of Foresters Court 1022, KWVA, member of St. Henry Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and a volunteer driver for the VA.

Bob is survived by his wife, Dorothy Riebel of St. Henry; children, Ann (Glenn) Holicky of Le Center, Neaner (Donald) Kriha of Montgomery, Donnie (Margie) Riebel of Le Center, Dale Riebel (Angie) of Le Center and Connie (David) Wood of Moorehead; 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Loren (Sharon) Riebel of Le Sueur and Patty (Phil) Lehner of Cleveland; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Marie Riebel; sister, Dorothy Rapp and brother, Melvin Riebel.

In lieu of flowers- memorials may be directed to MCHS Mankato Hospice Services or American Legion Post 108, Le Center.

Military honors will be provided by the Le Center area Honor Guard.
