Robert Lee Boys, 84 of Le Center, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Central Health Care in Le Center. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center. Funeral services will be Monday, September 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Holy Communion Episcopal Church in St. Peter, followed by a memorial and luncheon at the Le Center American Legion at 12:30. Burial will be at Lake Gorman Cemetery in Cordova following the luncheon.
Robert was born on July 24, 1929 in Mankato to Frank and Mable (Hassel) Boys. He served in the Army National Guard and was united in marriage to Beverly (Brockway) Boys at the Le Center Episcopal Church on July 7, 1951. He was a Dairy Farmer for over 60 years.
He was a member of the American Legion and was a lay reader for the Episcopal Church in Le Center for many years. He enjoyed golfing and farming. Bob received the gift of a heart transplant on December 31, 1994 and we are all blessed to have had him with us for all those extra years.
He is survived by wife, Beverly Boys of Le Center, children; Lynn (Bob) Karasch of East Bethel and Mark Boys of Montgomery, granddaughters; Taylor and Abagail Karasch, Sarah Belz, Debbie and Kristin Boys, 7 great-grandchildren and sister Joan Hanson of Edina.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and son Robert Jr. in infancy.
Military Honors provided by the Le Center Honor Guard.
Anyone bringing food can deliver it to the Le Center Legion Club between 10:30-12:30 on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
