Rodney “Rod” Kaderlik, age 67, of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Mayo System New Prague. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, June 25 from 1pm-5pm at the Rival on Main in Montgomery.
Rod was born on October 17, 1955 in New Prague to Alvin and Gladys (Sticha) Kaderlik. He was a graduate of Montgomery High School and Faribault Vo-tech for welding. Rod was united in marriage to Deb Huss they were married for 43-1/2 years. He worked for United Steel for 40 years retiring in 2016. He was a very proud member of the Montgomery Fire Department for 26 years where Deb joined him for his last 12 of those years and retired together in 2005. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, being a volunteer fire fighter, travelling, fishing, gardening, UTV and jeep rides, wintering in Arizona, and a good tasting beer.
Rod is survived by his wife, Deb Kaderlik of Montgomery; sister-in-law, Pam Wondra; brothers-in-law, Bob Huss and Jack Huss; nieces, Paula Wondra and Amanda (Tim) Apitz; nephew, Matt Huss, uncle and aunts, Will (Diane) Sticha, Mary Lou Kaderlik, and Donna Kaderlik; cousins; other family; and many friends.
Rod is preceded in death by his parents; uncles, Elgin and Myles Kaderlik; parents-in-law, Lambert (Lydia) Huss; brother-in-law, Jerry Huss.
