Roger D. Gehrke

Roger D. Gehrke, age 76, of Fairmont, formerly of Le Center, who passed away on his 76th birthday on November 11, 2013. Memorial service will be on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Morristown.

Roger was born on November 11, 1937 to Lawrence and Irene (Wiese) Gehrke in Morristown. He was inducted into the Navy at age 17 and honorably discharged on his 21st birthday in 1958. His rank was 2nd Class Petty Officer serving on the Bon Homme Richard. He was united in marriage to Carole Ulrich in New Ulm on December 3, 1960.

He is survived by children; Russell, Debbie, Denise, Colleen, grandchildren, siblings; Norma Jean Braun, Mary Ann Grundmeyer, Don (Sharon) Gehrke, Barbara Gilman, Becky (Gary) Factor and David Gehrke.

Roger is preceded in death by parents Lawrence and Irene (Wiese) Gehrke, brothers-in-law, Winton Grundmeyer, Gene Braun and brother Emery on his 1st birthday in 1934 and a nephew Tim Grundmeyer in 1996.

Military honors provided by the Le Center area Honor Guard.
