Ronald Laroy Arndt, 62, of Rockford, TN passed away on December 26,2013 at home following a short battle with cancer. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Le Center.
Ronald was born as a set of twins to Wilmer and Amy (Peterson) Arndt on April 9, 1951 in Mankato, MN. Ronald was baptized at St Peters (Bell) Lutheran Church and was confirmed in 1965. He attended parochial country school at St. Peters (Bell) Lutheran Church through the 5th grade and then transferred to Waterville-Elysian Public School graduating in 1969. He enlisted in the US Army in December 1971. He served 10 years and 4 months as a general construction equipment operator in the Corp of Engineer. During his service in Alaska he met and married Lilja and had 2 sons, Mical and Eric.
He enjoy photography and taking pictures in the Smokey Mountains and riding his horses.
He was a driver for several trucking companies near Knoxville, Tennessee, before purchasing his own semi-tractor and became an owner/operator.
He is survived by his sons, Mical & Eric; brother, Rodney of St. Peter; sisters: Bonita Hofschulte & friend Jim Evans, of Wanamingo; twin sister Ronita Walburn (Lloyd) of Rice; Linda Hagel (Tom) of Brainerd and Renea Hrdlicka (Mike) of Montgomery. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and aunts & uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and brother, Gilbert in 1999.
