Rudolph “Rudy” John Kaupa

Rudolph “Rudy” John Kaupa, 78, of New Ulm, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at his home. Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 28 at 2pm at the American Legion in Cleveland.

Rudy was born on December 6, 1945 in Mankato to Rudolph Otto and Helen (O’Keefe) Kaupa. He attended Cleveland High School. Rudy served in the United States Navy from 1964-1968. Rudy was united in marriage to Betty Marie Hoffman on February 16, 1974 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Le Center. He worked as a truck driver for Gary Dauk, Jim Selly, Max Johnson, and Le Sueur Inc. He loved music and going to car shows.

Rudy is survived by his wife, Betty Kaupa of New Ulm; daughter, Diane (Bruce) Berberich of New Ulm; grandchildren, Lahni Kaupa and Brianna Berberich; siblings, Judith Feigh of Eagan, Bobby (Deb) Gehrke of Cleveland, and Gary (Jayne) Gehrke of Le Center.

Rudy is preceded in death by his parents; and step-father, Herb Gehrke.
