Russell Alvin Kopet

Russell Alvin Kopet, age 59, of Le Center, died on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester. Visitation will be held at Le Center Funeral Home on Sunday, December 7 from 3:00 � 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Le Center. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred toward another community member in need.

Russ was born on March 21, 1955 in St. Peter to Alvin and Dorothy (Pete) Kopet. He graduated from Le Center High School. Russ and Connie (Koubele) were united in marriage on April 26, 1980 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. He learned his trade as a heavy equipment operator working for his dad many years and later becoming proud owner of Russ Kopet Construction with his son Kelly, whom he has enjoyed watching take over the family business.

Russ enjoyed winter and summer fishing, traveling to Mille Lacs, snowmobiling, motorcycling, gambling, going for rides, socializing with morning coffee group at Home Plate and spending time with grandchildren, family and friends.

Russ is survived by his wife, Connie Kopet, of Le Center; children, Shannon (Peter) Esser of Cleveland and Kelly Kopet of Le Center; grandchildren, Ellie and Max Esser; siblings, Ron (Deb) Kopet of Le Center, Rich (Annie) Kopet of Le Center, Brenda (Curt) Kunkel of Plymouth and Robbie (Jaci) Kopet of Cleveland; parent-in-laws, Frank and Alvia Koubele of Montgomery; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Sharon Koubele of Las Vegas, Raymond Koubele of Montgomery and Carol and Jim Turek of Kentucky and nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Judy Gaydon.
