Shirley Mary Barta

Shirley Mary Barta, 83, of Montgomery passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at her home in Montgomery. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 30 from 3pm to 6pm at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, December 31 at 11am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Victor Valencia officiating with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.

Shirley was born on April 12, 1935 in Le Center to Stanley and Violet Meger. Shirley was united in marriage to Ben T. Barta on April 30, 1957 in Le Center. Shirley was a nursing assistant and worked and retired from Siemers Nursing Home in Montgomery. She enjoyed gardening, reading, working on word puzzles, dancing to her husband's music, The Ben Barta Band, and especially enjoyed being with her family. She was very caring and enjoyed helping others.

Shirley is survived by her children, Gretchen Barta of Faribault, Terry (Ruby) Barta of Clever, MO., Karen (Wade) Wiberg of Red Wing, and Dale Barta of Little Canada; grandchildren, Justin (Patty) Bultman, Riley Barta, Kylle and Chelsea Barta; great-grandson, Aidan Bultman; siblings, Darlene (Danny) Ryan of Waseca; 2 granddogs, Louie and Flounder; many other relatives and friends.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ben T. Barta in 2010; daughter, Connie Barta; son, Steve Barta; and sister, Florence Campbell.
