Stella M. Vlasak

Stella M. Vlasak, age 88 of Montgomery, died Friday, May 12, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, May 17 at 11am with Fr. George Grafsky officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 16 from 4-8pm at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery and will continue one hour prior on Wednesday morning at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. Luncheon to follow at Holy Redeemer Church basement.

Stella was born on December 4, 1928 to Martin and Mary (Franek) Novotny in Helena Township in rural New Prague. Stella was united in marriage to Edward Vlasak on November 8, 1947 at St. Wenceslaus Church in New Prague. Stella and Edward started farming and Stella still lived on the farm until her passing.

Stella was a member of Holy Redeemer CCW, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Degree of Honor, Miss Czech pageant committee, blood mobile volunteer, member of the once a month crafters, Holy Redeemer Church festival committee, mission sewing and was a Le Sueur County Outstanding Senior Citizen. Stella enjoyed baking for her children and grandchildren, flower and vegetable gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and playing cards.

Stella is survived by her children, Dennis (Carole) Vlasak of Maple Grove, David Vlasak of Montgomery, Carol (Ken) Ernste of Faribault, Edward "Butch" (Deb) Vlasak of Montgomery, Gary Vlasak of Montgomery, Lori Edberg of Burnsville, Joe (Sharon) Vlasak of Montgomery, and Barb (Paul) Schneider of Lakeville; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, and 3 brothers.

Stella is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; son, Charles Vlasak; 1 brother and 1 sister.
