Thomas Mariska, age 90, of Montgomery, died on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Mala Strana Health Care in New Prague. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery with visitation one hour prior at the church. Pastor Mark Wilms will be officiating. Interment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Montgomery. Memorials are preferred.
Tom was born on October 8, 1925 in Montgomery to Thomas and Emma (Krocak) Mariska. He was a farmer all his life and also owned and operated laundry mats in Belle Plaine, Shakopee, and Minneapolis. He was united in marriage to Pomala "Pam" Wilson on November 26, 1971 at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery.
Tom was very active in the Le Sueur County Pioneer Power Association. He enjoyed horseshoes, bowling, dancing, playing cards, traveling, hunting, fishing, playing the concertina, and trapshooting. He especially enjoyed being with family and friends. He was a very social person who also known for being a jokester. His Czech heritage was very important to him.
Tom is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pam Mariska; daughter, Katherine (Michael) Bosshardt of Minneapolis; granddaughter, Michelle (Daniel) Rynda of Heidelberg; great-grandchildren, Allison and Adam Rynda; nephews, Stan (Robyn) Mariska of Brooklyn Park, and John (Mary) Kotek of Beaver Dam, WI; great-nephew, Andy (Michelle) Mariska; and great-niece, Kelly (Greg) Brown.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Stanley Mariska; sister-in-law, Alice Mariska, and niece, Judy Farmer.
