Vernon Arthur Braun

Vernon Arthur Braun, 95, of Roseville formerly of Montgomery and Faribault, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at United Hospital in St. Paul. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery. Funeral Services will also be on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 2 p. m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery. Burial will be at a later date.
Vernon was born on September 17, 1918 in Timber Lake, South Dakota to Paul and Pauline (Nuismeier) Braun. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 51 months. Was united in marriage for 55 years to Irma (Harmeyer) Braun whom passed away March 26, 2001. On January 12, 2008 he was united in marriage to Rita Miskimen. Vernon loved farming, the outdoors, fishing, travelling, reading, was a very kind man with a wonderful sense of humor.
Vernon is survived by wife, Rita Miskimen of Roseville; children, Linda Braun Pollari and life partner Barry Engle of Roseville, Larry Braun of Roseville; four stepdaughters, Mary (Gary) Clark, of New Mexico, Patricia (John) Lankenau of New Mexico, Julie (Jim) Curtsinger of Roseville and Marcia Miskimen of Roseville; six grandchildren; brothers, Delmer (Betty) Braun of Montgomery and Paul Braun of Le Sueur and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Irma Braun; sister, Doris Vlasak.
Military honors will be provided by the Montgomery area Honor Guard.
